ਫਰੀਦਾ ਪੈਨੀ ਘੜੀਆਲ ਸਿਰਿ ਊਪਰ ਵਾਗੈ ॥ ਕੋਈ ਘੜੀ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਮੁਠੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਗੈ ॥

farida paini ghadeeaal sir oopar vaagai. koi ghadee suhaavrhee muthee jind jaagai.

Farid, the hours strike like sharp blows upon your head. Some hours are beautiful, when the fist of life awakens and the soul stirs.

फरीदा, घड़ियाल के प्रहार सिर के ऊपर बजते हैं। कोई घड़ी सुहानी होती है, जब मुट्ठी में बंद जीवन जाग उठता है।
