Guru Granth Sahib 6.9

ਮਾਧੋ ਹਮ ਐਸੇ ਤੂ ਐਸਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਤੂ ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨ ॥ ਹਮ ਲੋਭੀ ਤੂ ਲਾਜ ਰਖੰਦਨ ॥ ਨੀਚ ਕਰਮ ਹਮਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਨੀਚਾ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥

madho ham aise tu aisa. ham paapi tu paap khandan. ham lobhi tu laaj rakhandan. neech karam hamre nit neechaa tu sarab ka daataa.

Lord, I am like this, and You are like that. I am a sinner, and You are the destroyer of sin. I am greedy, and You are the preserver of honor. My deeds are forever lowly — yet You are the giver to all.

हे माधव, मैं ऐसा हूँ, तू ऐसा है। मैं पापी, तू पाप-खण्डन। मैं लोभी, तू लाज-रखनहार। मेरे कर्म नित्य नीच, तू सबका दाता।
