Katha Upanishad 2.1
अन्यच्छ्रेयोऽन्यदुतैव प्रेयस्ते उभे नानार्थे पुरुषꣳ सिनीतः | तयोः श्रेय आददानस्य साधु भवति हीयतेऽर्थाद्य उ प्रेयो वृणीते ॥
anyach chreyo'nyad utaiva preyas te ubhe nanaarthe purusham sinitah | tayoh shreya aadadanasya sadhu bhavati hiyate'rthad ya u preyo vrinite ||

The good is one thing; the pleasant is quite another. Both, having different ends, bind a person. It goes well for him who chooses the good; he who chooses the pleasant misses the goal.
(यम बोले —) 'श्रेय अलग है, और प्रेय भी निश्चय ही अलग है। दोनों भिन्न प्रयोजनों वाले पुरुष को बाँधते हैं। जो श्रेय को ग्रहण करता है, उसका कल्याण होता है; जो प्रेय को चुनता है, वह मूल अर्थ से च्युत हो जाता है।'
