Katha Upanishad 6.4

शतं चैका च हृदयस्य नाड्यस्तासां मूर्धानमभिनिःसृतैका | तयोर्ध्वमायन्नमृतत्वमेति विष्वङ्ङन्या उत्क्रमणे भवन्ति ॥

shatam chaika cha hridayasya nadyas tasam murdhanam abhinihsritaika | tayordhvam ayann amritatvam eti vishvang anya utkramane bhavanti ||

A hundred and one are the channels of the heart. One of them leads to the crown of the head. Going upward through that, one attains immortality. The others lead, at departure, in various directions.

हृदय की एक सौ एक नाड़ियाँ हैं। उनमें से एक मूर्धा (सिर के ऊपर) की ओर निकली हुई है। उसके द्वारा ऊर्ध्व-गमन करते हुए पुरुष अमृतत्व को प्राप्त करता है। शेष अन्य नाड़ियाँ प्राण-उत्क्रमण के समय विविध दिशाओं की ओर ले जाती हैं।
