Mundaka Upanishad 1.1

ॐ ब्रह्मा देवानां प्रथमः सम्बभूव विश्वस्य कर्ता भुवनस्य गोप्ता | स ब्रह्मविद्यां सर्वविद्याप्रतिष्ठामथर्वाय ज्येष्ठपुत्राय प्राह ॥

om brahma devanam prathamah sambabhuva vishvasya karta bhuvanasya gopta | sa brahma-vidyam sarva-vidya-pratistham atharvaya jyeshtha-putraya praha ||

Brahma, the creator of the universe and the protector of the world, arose first among the gods. He taught the knowledge of Brahman, the foundation of all knowledge, to his eldest son Atharva.

ब्रह्मा देवताओं में प्रथम रूप से प्रकट हुए — विश्व के रचयिता और भुवन के रक्षक। उन्होंने समस्त विद्याओं की प्रतिष्ठा-भूत ब्रह्मविद्या अपने ज्येष्ठ पुत्र अथर्वा को कही।
