Mundaka Upanishad 1.5

तत्रापरा ऋग्वेदो यजुर्वेदः सामवेदोऽथर्ववेदः शिक्षा कल्पो व्याकरणं निरुक्तं छन्दो ज्योतिषमिति | अथ परा यया तदक्षरमधिगम्यते ॥

tatrapara rigvedo yajurvedah samavedo'tharvavedah shiksha kalpo vyakaranam niruktam chando jyotisham iti | atha para yaya tad aksharam adhigamyate ||

Of these, the lower knowledge is the Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda, phonetics, ritual, grammar, etymology, meter, and astronomy. And the higher knowledge is that by which the imperishable Brahman is realized.

उनमें अपरा विद्या है — ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद, अथर्ववेद, शिक्षा, कल्प, व्याकरण, निरुक्त, छन्द और ज्योतिष। और परा वह है जिसके द्वारा वह अक्षर (अविनाशी ब्रह्म) प्राप्त होता है।
