Mundaka Upanishad 2.10

इष्टापूर्तं मन्यमाना वरिष्ठं नान्यच्छ्रेयो वेदयन्ते प्रमूढाः | नाकस्य पृष्ठे ते सुकृतेऽनुभूत्वेमं लोकं हीनतरं वा विशन्ति ॥

ishtapurtam manyamana varishtham nanyach chreyo vedayante pramudhah | nakasya prishthe te sukrite'nubhutvemam lokam hinataramva vishanti ||

Regarding sacrificial and charitable works as the most important, the deluded know nothing higher. Having enjoyed their reward on the heights of heaven, they enter this world or a lower one again.

इष्ट (यज्ञ) और पूर्त (दानादि) को ही श्रेष्ठ मानते हुए, ये प्रमूढ़ उससे अन्य किसी श्रेय को नहीं जानते। स्वर्ग के पृष्ठ पर सुकृत का फल भोगकर, वे पुनः इस लोक में या इससे भी हीन लोक में प्रवेश करते हैं।
