Mundaka Upanishad 3.5

तस्मादग्निः समिधो यस्य सूर्यः सोमात्पर्जन्य ओषधयः पृथिव्याम् | पुमान्रेतः सिञ्चति योषितायां बह्वीः प्रजाः पुरुषात्सम्प्रसूताः ॥

tasmad agnih samidho yasya suryah somat parjanya oshadhayah prithivyam | puman retah sinchati yoshitayam bahvih prajah purushat samprasutah ||

From Him comes fire with the sun as its fuel; from the moon comes rain, and from rain the herbs upon the earth. The male sheds seed in the female — thus many creatures are born from the Person.

उसी से वह अग्नि प्रकट होती है जिसकी समिधा सूर्य है; चन्द्रमा से पर्जन्य (मेघ), पर्जन्य से पृथ्वी पर औषधियाँ; पुरुष स्त्री में वीर्य सींचता है — इस प्रकार पुरुष से अनेकों प्रजाएँ उत्पन्न होती हैं।
