Mundaka Upanishad 4.1

आविः सन्निहितं गुहाचरं नाम महत्पदमत्रैतत्समर्पितम् | एजत्प्राणन्निमिषच्च यदेतज्जानथ सदसद्वरेण्यं परं विज्ञानाद्यद्वरिष्ठं प्रजानाम् ॥

avih sannihitam guha-charam nama mahat padam atraitat samarpitam | ejat pranann nimishach cha yad etaj janatha sad-asad varenyam param vijnanad yad varishtham prajanam ||

Self-luminous, ever dwelling near, the great Being moves in the cave of the heart. In It is centered everything that moves, breathes, and blinks. Know that as both the gross and subtle, the most adorable, beyond the understanding of creatures, the supreme.

वह स्व-प्रकाश, अति समीप, गुहा में विचरण करनेवाला, महत् पद — उसी में यह सब समर्पित है। जो चलता है, श्वास लेता है, पलक झपकाता है — सब इसी में स्थित है। जानो उसे — वह सत् और असत् दोनों के परे, वरेण्य, विज्ञान से भी श्रेष्ठ है, प्रजाओं में सर्वोत्तम है।
