Mundaka Upanishad 5.9

एषोऽणुरात्मा चेतसा वेदितव्यो यस्मिन्प्राणः पञ्चधा संविवेश | प्राणैश्चित्तं सर्वमोतं प्रजानां यस्मिन्विशुद्धे विभवत्येष आत्मा ॥

esho'nur atma chetasa veditavyo yasmin pranah panchadha samvivesha | pranaish chittam sarvam otam prajanam yasmin vishuddhe vibhavaty esha atma ||

This subtle Self is to be known by the mind, in which the five-fold breath has entered. The whole of the mind of creatures is pervaded by the breaths. When the mind is purified, this Self shines forth.

यह सूक्ष्म आत्मा चित्त (मनन-बुद्धि) के द्वारा ही जानने योग्य है — जिसमें प्राण पाँच प्रकार से प्रवेश करता है। प्रजाओं का समस्त चित्त प्राणों से ओत-प्रोत है; जब वह चित्त विशुद्ध हो जाता है, तब यह आत्मा प्रकट होता है।
