Prashna Upanishad 2.8

देवानामसि वह्नितमः पितॄणां प्रथमा स्वधा | ऋषीणां चरितं सत्यमथर्वाङ्गिरसामसि ॥

devanam asi vahnitamah pitrinam prathama svadha | rishinam charitam satyam atharvangirasamasi ||

You are the chief bearer of offerings to the gods, the first oblation to the ancestors. You are the true practice of the Rishis, of the Atharvangirases.

तुम देवों के सर्वश्रेष्ठ हविष्यवाहक हो, पितरों के प्रथम स्वधा-अर्पण हो। तुम ऋषियों का सत्य-आचरण हो, तुम अथर्वांगिरस ऋषियों के हो।
