Rig Veda 15.3

तम आसीत्तमसा गूळ्हमग्रेऽप्रकेतं सलिलं सर्वमा इदम् । तुच्छ्येनाभ्वपिहितं यदासीत्तपसस्तन्महिनाजायतैकम् ॥

tama asit tamasa gulham agre'praketam salilam sarvam a idam | tuchchhyena abhv apihitam yad asit tapasas tan mahina ajayata ekam

Darkness was hidden by darkness in the beginning. All this was an indistinguishable flood of water. That One, which had been covered by the void — through the power of heat, that One was born.

प्रारम्भ में अन्धकार अन्धकार से ढका था; यह सब अप्रकेत सलिल रूप में था। जो शून्य से आवृत था — वही एक, तप की महिमा से जन्मा।
