Rig Veda 15.4

कामस्तदग्रे समवर्तताधि मनसो रेतः प्रथमं यदासीत् । सतो बन्धुमसति निरविन्दन्हृदि प्रतीष्या कवयो मनीषा ॥

kamas tad agre samavartatadhi manaso retah prathamam yad asit | sato bandhum asati niravindan hridi pratishya kavayo manisha

In the beginning, desire arose — that was the first seed of mind. The sages, searching in their hearts with wisdom, found the bond of existence in non-existence.

प्रारम्भ में काम उत्पन्न हुआ — जो मन का प्रथम रेत था। कवियों ने अपने हृदय में मनीषा से खोजकर असत् में सत् का बन्धन पाया।
