इन्द्रस्य नु वीर्याणि प्र वोचं यानि चकार प्रथमानि वज्री । अहन्नहिमन्वपस्ततर्द प्र वक्षणा अभिनत्पर्वतानाम् ॥

indrasya nu viryani pra vocham yani chakara prathamani vajri | ahann ahim anv apas tatarda pra vakshana abhinat parvatanam

I will declare the heroic deeds of Indra, the first that the thunderbolt-wielder performed. He slew the serpent, released the waters, and split open the bellies of the mountains.

अब मैं इन्द्र के उन वीर कर्मों का वर्णन करूँगा जो इस वज्रधारी ने सबसे पहले किए। उन्होंने वृत्र नामक अहि को मारा, जलों को मुक्त किया, और पर्वतों के उदर फाड़ डाले।
