Rig Veda 2.10

अतिष्ठन्तीनामनिवेशनानां काष्ठानां मध्ये निहितं शरीरम् । वृत्रस्य निण्यं वि चरन्ति आपो दीर्घं तम आशयदिन्द्रशत्रुः ॥

atishthanteenam aniveshananam kashthanam madhye nihitam shariram | vritrasya ninyam vi charanti apo dirgham tama ashayad indra-shatruh

The body lay in the midst of waters that were restless and never resting. The waters flow over the hidden form of Vritra. Indra's enemy sank into long darkness.

अविराम बहने वाले जलों के मध्य में उसका शरीर पड़ा रहा। जल वृत्र के गुप्त रूप के ऊपर से बहते चले; इन्द्र का शत्रु दीर्घ अन्धकार में डूब गया।
