Rig Veda 4.3

प्र विष्णवे शूषमेतु मन्म गिरिक्षित उरुगायाय वृष्णे । य इदं दीर्घं प्रयतं सधस्थमेको विममे त्रिभिरित्पदेभिः ॥

pra vishnnave shusham etu manma girikshita urugayaya vrishne | ya idam dirgham prayatam sadhastham eko vimame tribhir it padebhih

Let my inspiring hymn go forth to Vishnu, the mountain-dwelling, wide-striding, mighty one, who alone measured out this long extended space with three steps.

मेरा यह जोशीला मन्त्र विष्णु की ओर जाए — पर्वत पर रहने वाले, उरुगाय, वृषभ के लिए — जिन्होंने अकेले ही तीन पगों से यह विस्तृत धाम माप लिया।
