उपसर्प मातरं भूमिमेतामुरुव्यचसं पृथिवीं सुशेवाम् । ऊर्णम्रदा युवतिर्दक्षिणावत एषा त्वा पातु निर्ऋतेरुपस्थात् ॥

upasarpa mataram bhumim etam uruvyachasam prithivim sushevaam | urnamradaa yuvatir dakshinavata esha tva patu nirriter upasthat

Go to this your mother, Earth — the wide, kind, gracious Earth. A maiden soft as wool to those who are generous — may she protect you from the lap of destruction.
