Rig Veda 9.3

इमे जीवा वि मृतैरावृत्रन्नभूदवेषो देवहूतिरस्मे । प्राञ्चो अगाम नृतये हसाय द्राघीय आयुः प्रतरां दधानाः ॥

ime jiva vi mritair avritran abhud avesho devahutir asme | prancho agama nritaye hasaya draghiya ayuh prataram dadhanah

These living ones have turned away from the dead. Our invocation of the gods has been auspicious. We have come forward for dancing and laughter, extending our lives further.

ये जीवित लोग मृतकों से अलग हो चुके हैं; हमारी देव-आवाहन-क्रिया शुभ हुई है। हम नृत्य और हास के लिए आगे आए हैं, दीर्घ आयु को और आगे बढ़ाते हुए।
