Taittiriya Upanishad 1.5

आचार्याय प्रियं धनमाहृत्य प्रजातन्तुं मा व्यवच्छेत्सीः | सत्यान्न प्रमदितव्यम् | धर्मान्न प्रमदितव्यम् | कुशलान्न प्रमदितव्यम् ॥

acharyaya priyam dhanam ahritya prajatantum ma vyavacchhetsih | satyan na pramaditavyam | dharman na pramaditavyam | kushalan na pramaditavyam ||

'Having given the teacher the gift he desires, do not cut off the line of progeny. There must be no negligence of truth. There must be no negligence of dharma. There must be no negligence of welfare.'

‘आचार्य को उसका प्रिय धन (गुरुदक्षिणा) अर्पित करके, प्रजा-तन्तु का छेदन मत करना। सत्य से प्रमाद मत करना। धर्म से प्रमाद मत करना। कुशल (कल्याणकारी कर्म) से प्रमाद मत करना।’
