Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 1.41

क्षीणवृत्तेरभिजातस्येव मणेर्ग्रहीतृग्रहणग्राह्येषु तत्स्थतदञ्जनता समापत्तिः ॥

kshina-vritter abhijatasya iva maner grahitri-grahana-grahyeshu tat-stha-tad-anjanata samapattih

When the modifications of the mind have been weakened, the mind becomes like a transparent crystal — taking on the color of whatever is placed before it — whether perceiver, perceiving, or perceived. This is samapatti (absorption).

जब वृत्तियाँ क्षीण हो जाती हैं, तब चित्त — स्वच्छ मणि के समान — ग्रहीता, ग्रहण और ग्राह्य (पुरुष, इन्द्रिय, विषय) के ऊपर उनके रंग को ग्रहण कर लेता है; यह समापत्ति है।
