Brahma Sutras 8.15

अनुज्ञापरिहारौ देहसम्बन्धाज्ज्योतिरादिवत् ॥

anujnaa-pariharau deha-sambandhaj jyotiradivat

Permission and refusal are due to the connection with the body, as in the case of light and so on.

[जीव की] अनुज्ञा (= स्वीकृति/अनुमति) और परिहार (= वर्जना/अस्वीकृति) — [ये दोनों] देह-सम्बन्ध (= शरीर के साथ जुड़ाव) के कारण [होती] हैं — [जैसे] ज्योति (= दीपक) आदि के जैसे ॥
