Dhammapada 6.8

सब्बत्थ वे सप्पुरिसा चजन्ति न कामकामा लपयन्ति सन्तो | सुखेन फुट्ठा अथवा दुक्खेन न उच्चावचं पण्डिता दस्सयन्ति ॥

sabbattha ve sappurisa chajanti na kamakama lapayanti santo | sukhena phuttha athava dukkhena na uchchavacham pandita dassayanti ||

The virtuous relinquish all things everywhere. The good do not chatter with desire for pleasures. Whether touched by happiness or sorrow, the wise show no elation or depression.

सत्पुरुष सर्वत्र त्याग करते हैं; सन्त-पुरुष कामरति की बातें नहीं करते। सुख से छुए गए हों या दुःख से — पण्डित उच्चावच (हर्ष-विषाद) प्रकट नहीं करते।
