Katha Upanishad 3.2

इन्द्रियाणि हयानाहुर्विषयांस्तेषु गोचरान् | आत्मेन्द्रियमनोयुक्तं भोक्तेत्याहुर्मनीषिणः ॥

indriyani hayan ahur vishayams teshu gocharan | atmendriya-mano-yuktam bhokety ahur manishinah ||

The senses, they say, are the horses; the objects of the senses are the roads. The Self, joined with the senses and the mind, the wise call the enjoyer.

इन्द्रियों को घोड़े कहते हैं, और उन घोड़ों के विचरण-क्षेत्र हैं विषय। आत्मा-इन्द्रिय-मन से युक्त — इसी को मनीषी लोग भोक्ता कहते हैं।
