Kena Upanishad 4.3

तस्मद्वा एते देवा अतितरामिवान्यान्देवान्यदग्निर्वायुरिन्द्रः | ते ह्येनन्निकटतमं पस्पृशुस्ते ह्येनत्प्रथमो विदाञ्चकार ब्रह्मेति ॥

tasmad va ete deva atitaram ivanyaan devan yad agnir vayur indrah | te hy enan nikatamam pasprishus te hy enat prathamo vidanchakara brahmeti ||

Therefore these gods — Agni, Vayu, and Indra — surpass the other gods, for they came nearest to touching Brahman, and they first knew It was Brahman.

इसीलिए ये देवता — अग्नि, वायु और इन्द्र — अन्य देवताओं से मानो श्रेष्ठ हैं, क्योंकि इन्होंने उस ब्रह्म को सबसे निकट से स्पर्श किया; इन्होंने ही सबसे पहले जाना कि 'यह ब्रह्म है।'
