Kena Upanishad 4.4

तस्माद्वा इन्द्रोऽतितरामिवान्यान्देवान्स ह्येनन्निकटतमं पस्पर्श स ह्येनत्प्रथमो विदाञ्चकार ब्रह्मेति ॥

tasmad va indro'titaram ivanyaan devaan sa hy enan nikatamam pasparsha sa hy enat prathamo vidanchakara brahmeti ||

Therefore Indra surpasses the other gods as it were, for he came nearest to touching Brahman; he first knew It was Brahman.

इसीलिए इन्द्र अन्य देवताओं से मानो श्रेष्ठ है, क्योंकि उसने उस ब्रह्म को सबसे निकट से स्पर्श किया; उसने ही सबसे पहले जाना कि 'यह ब्रह्म है।'
