Verse 1

The Cosmic Being has a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, a thousand feet. He pervades the earth on all sides and extends ten fingers beyond it.

Verse 2

The Cosmic Being is all this — whatever has been and whatever shall be. He is the lord of immortality and grows beyond through food.

Verse 3

Such is his greatness, and the Cosmic Being is even greater than this. All beings are one-fourth of him; three-fourths are the immortal in heaven.

From him was born the shining one (Virat), and from Virat the Cosmic Being again. Being born, he extended beyond the earth, both behind and before.
