Rig Veda 10.16

यज्ञेन यज्ञमयजन्त देवास्तानि धर्माणि प्रथमान्यासन् । ते ह नाकं महिमानः सचन्त यत्र पूर्वे साध्याः सन्ति देवाः ॥

yajnena yajnam ayajanta devas tani dharmani prathamany asan | te ha nakam mahimanah sachanta yatra purve sadhyah santi devah

With sacrifice the gods sacrificed to sacrifice — these were the first ordinances. These mighty ones attained the height of heaven where the ancient Sadhyas and gods dwell.

यज्ञ से ही देवों ने यज्ञ का पूजन किया — यही प्रथम धर्म थे। ये महिमामयी वहीं पहुँचे जहाँ पूर्वज साध्य और देव निवास करते हैं।
