Rig Veda 10.6

यत्पुरुषेण हविषा देवा यज्ञमतन्वत । वसन्तो अस्यासीदाज्यं ग्रीष्म इध्मः शरद्धविः ॥

yat purushena havisha deva yajnam atanvata | vasanto asyasid ajyam grishma idhmah sharad havih

When the gods performed the sacrifice with the Cosmic Being as the offering — spring was its ghee, summer was its fuel, and autumn was the oblation.

जब देवों ने पुरुष-हवि से यज्ञ फैलाया — तब वसन्त उसका घृत बना, ग्रीष्म ईंधन, और शरद् हवि।
