O King Varuna, let me not yet go to the house of clay. Be merciful, O mighty ruler, be merciful.

Verse 2

When I go trembling like an inflated water-skin, O lord of stones — be merciful, O mighty ruler, be merciful.

Verse 3

O lord of a hundred powers, even the pure ones falter and make errors in their work — be merciful, O mighty ruler, be merciful.

Verse 4

Today I proclaim your name, O resplendent one, a nobleman knowing your laws. I bow to you, O supreme being — turn away your anger, O Varuna.

Verse 5
